AYURVEDIC POSTPARTUM MASSAGE

Still Point Ayurveda is proud to announce the addition of Ayurvedic Postpartum Massage with Jade Groff,CNM, LMT, JourneyDance™ Facilitator.

Ayurvedic Postpartum Massage

This massage is incredibly relaxing and restorative.  Traditionally, women in India are massaged everyday as part of a restorative program which also includes specific herbs and food, for the first 42 days after childbirth.  Postpartum Ayurvedic massage uses warm oil, typically sesame, in large amounts.  The oil is part of the therapy.  This massage begins with a head treatment combining the use of warm oil, Ayurvedic face and head techniques, and CranioSacral therapy.  A full body massage follows with rhythmic strokes and pressure points to reduce the natural stress of pregnancy, labor, and birth, and promote wellbeing and balance during postpartum recovery.  A woman can receive this massage a few days after childbirth.  This massage is beneficial at any time during the postpartum period (and beyond the 42 day period).  It is best received at a minimum of once a week.  When a woman is nurtured, she feels more ease during this powerful transition. Many common symptoms, such as deep exhaustion, weak digestion, overwhelm, emotional imbalance or depression, and stress/worry can be soothed and alleviated with this nurturing treatment. Jade may also recommend herbal treatments and foods to facilitate healing.

Sessions are 75 minutes. With steam sauna,  95 minutes.
