WHAT TO EAT? AN INTEGRATIVE APPROACH

There are so many diets out there talking about what to eat and not eat. Over stimulation can lead to feeling overwhelmed and confused about what to put in your body. Āyurveda is the known as the science of longevity and is the oldest complete system of holistic healthcare. The primary foundation of Āyurveda involves a vastly comprehensive system of diet and nutrition. In this class, we will have a light and general understanding, to slowly digest the information, about how to eat for your body/mind, and with the season, each season.

Date: Friday, June 7th

Time: 7:00 - 8:30 (ish)

Cost: $30.00

RESUSCITATING ROMANCE: A HEART GATHERING

This is a great time of year to offer this workshop, being that it is when Valentine’s Day is celebrated. Just remember that every day, or almost every day, can be Valentine’s Day with the one you love. This is one way of remembering how we can be inspired by romance. Romance is passion in a poetic form. This romance is another way of experiencing life tantrically and when we connect with this grace there is something tangibly alive that we have access too.

From recent discussions, I was inspired to offer this sort of new workshop since it seems like some people can use some support in being re-inspired by the romantic path. Being a die hard hopeful (not hopeless) romantic, here is a class to experience this, what seems to be, a dying art, science, and practice. Come get that spark rekindled. It’s like coming back to life!

This workshop is organized as a 2 part series. it is preferred that you attend both sessions but it is not mandated, being that there will be some overlap as well as individualized attention within the content.

Part 1:

  • In this class we will discuss the definition of romance

  • We will discuss the various spectrum of romance, from simple to elaborate

  • We will discuss the 5 senses and their involvement with romance

  • We will go further into learning, relearning about romance including examples and practices

  • We will understand how romance is not just about couples involved but also the primary relationship with the Self/self.

Part 2:

  • We will connect romance to the practices of yoga known as Tantra, and learn about the general two major aspects of Tantra (the right-handed path and left-handed path). Check out this link on the tradition of Tantra and the ancient Vedic wisdom. Click HERE.

  • We will further experience the exploration of the 5 Senses

  • We will have some hands-on exposure to basic oil massage practices.

Please note that you can either come as a couple (with a significant other) or yourself (which is a relationship in and of itself just the same.)

Cost:

For both sessions =$60.00

For one session= $30.00

As our characters’ stories about their connection to the music unfold, we meet the musicians who have inspired them and brought them together. Through these encounters, we will discover how Snatam Kaur, Deva Premal & Miten, Krishna Das, Lama Gyurme, Jai Uttal and MC Yogi, amongst others, came to this music themselves and to the practice of Kirtan, and how, over the years, it transformed their lives too.

YOGA AND MEN'S HEALTH SERIES

COME CHECK OUT THIS AMAZING WORKSHOP WITH DR. VISHNU

AT

BLUE BANYAN

“Men's Health Series - East Meets West”

This is a six-week series designed specifically to address men's health from the perspective of yoga and yogic medicine (Ayurveda) in a forum setting.  The class will be an hour and a half long and will include open discussion, specific asana's, dietary recommendations, breathing, and meditation techniques, along with general guidelines for maintaining good health. Students will come away with the insight that will increase perception and encourage a sense of balance and well-being.

Men's Health is a specialty and passion of mine.  I am personally motivated by this topic as it is such and important need on many levels in our community and especially during this time on the planet. Men's health is more than just the understanding of physical health. It involves mental/emotional, and spiritual health as well. It is the combination of all the above that makes us whole, and when they are separated then, well, we are fragmented in ways and our bodies can show us such as disharmonious relationship through its expression of symptoms.

I have been exploring the depths of what it means to be a man, that is balanced, and measuring it according to how I feel in my mind and body.  I have my own journey of exploring the many facets of my being to learn more about myself and what makes me happy, healthy, prosperous, and whole overall.

It is common that physical ailments parallel with emotional ailments. It has been a programming from various aspects of society that men were shaped to look and be a certain way, but in doing so, many men have lost themselves, lost their voices, lost connection to health, and lost connection to a deeper sense of love and contentment.  It is my intention through the work that I offer that I help other men to find themselves and truly feel fully empowered in the world.  A sense of confidence, "open hearted-ness", balance of both the masculine and feminine energies, and have this all integrated in the body.  This 6 week series builds on itself. Each week there will be a topic of discussion, representing both the eastern and western sides of things, with a little yoga, breathing techniques, and overall health suggestions. For deeper work, it is encouraged to work with me individually. This can be discussed during our time together.

As I have offered this in the past, the guys were great. We learned so much from each other and many of them came to see me privately.  They are happy and thriving in their lives. Healthier too. I am excited to offer this again.
